Last week I had Hyper-V project of my customers which purchased two new Hosts and we should have replaced them with HP hosts, during host configuration we couldn’t enable live migration on a specific host and got the following error:
Failed to modify service settings
Faile to enable live migration
The only way I found to fix it is by:
Renaming C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Registry.pol to C:\Windows\System32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Registry.polx
As soon as you’ve renamed that file, go back to “Live MIgration” settings and enable it again, you will notice that new “Registry.pol” will be created successfully.
And obviously, you can run “Live Migration” to machines perfectly.
